About the Book:

Since Intersoft became the manager of the Micosoft IT Academy Program (ITA) in South Africa in August 2006, educational institutions joining the ITA have plied Intersoft with requests for a simple, quick reference source; one that shows how to get started quickly, provides solutions to any difficulties experienced and shows how to make full use of all the rich resources that are available to instructors and learners. So they did.

The approach is task-orientated approach and the text is presented in a logical, clear and simple format, designed to answer many of the questions that a new Microsoft ITA member may have…and those they haven’t yet thought of!

The aim is to make ITA members fully aware of what’s available under the program, how to make use of all the resources available, to prevent difficulties before they can manifest and solve problems that might crop up swiftly. At the back of the book is an ITA Resource CD, which saves so much time and effort that those ITA members who utilise it fully could be up and running weeks ahead of those who don’t. Forms and information that otherwise can be tricky to find and download are on the CD. It makes administrative tasks so much lighter!

This title is a South African initiative and it is a creation resulting from the talents of a number of skilled professionals. This is the first book in the world to be published on the ITA for ITA members. It is supported by Microsoft South Africa.

About the Author:

Lorna Slater has worked at Certiport in the UK and has spent years supporting ITA members. With her training and assistance, members found themselves up and running in a short space of time. The ITA Resource CD was her idea and she collected the information and supplied it to thankful members long before there was a book. Ms. Slater was the obvious person to write the text for Intersoft, which chose to create the book and hand it out free to ITA members who signed up through them.

"Are we, who want to create, in some way specially talented people? Or has everybody else simply given up, either by pressures of modesty or laziness, and closed their ears from their inner need to create, until that need has died, forgotten and abandoned? When you look at children, you start to think the latter. I still haven't met a child who doesn't love - or who at least hasn't loved - drawing, writing or some other creative activity."
